*ETA: As you can see, I own almost everything. If you are looking for a similar color to a discontinued or LE color, I can probably help- just ask and i will look.

1) for my own personal reference when buying (Do I have that...?)

2)I am generally pretty nice about sharing. If I get duplicates or samples of what i already have, i usually give it away. I've also been known (on rare occasion) to give a lucky person or two the option of sampling from my extensive stash. I don't want a flood of requests coming in, but when people ask for a sample of one thing, i usually ask if there's anything else they'd like to try and i'd like for them to be able to refer here.

3)I'm adding a list of what I DON'T have so that if someone else has it and didn't love it, it might lovingly find a home with me.

Disclaimer: I really haven't read the little ditty on blogging regulations, but here is my disclaimer: I generally purchase all of my makeup and am not mailed packages of free goodies. I have occasionally received little surprises in my orders- an experience many Silk Naturals customers share as well as the GWP promotions on their homepage. On the rare occasion that Silk Naturals calls for testers, i jump up and down and wave my hand wildly in the air to participate. I also participate in most of the contests. The above colors "I Do!" and "Cinderella" are the wedding gift lippies mentioned in the intro spiel.  

My relationship with Silk Naturals: I have been buying and wearing Silk Naturals for around 3 years. I review it because I know how important reviews are in online shopping, and- after 3 years of stockpiling- i own almost everything they make. SN does not now, nor have they ever, paid me for any reason. They have never asked me to write a review nor have they ever asked me to take photos of anything. I do it because i love it. My swatches are helpful to others and act a bit like a closet for me in the "what to wear today" sense.

I am making my wedding dress but I've been a bit of a procrastinator. It's a champagne colored silk shantung bodice with a white tulle overlay embroidered in silver and gold thread with white and silver flowers and a handkerchief skirt of champagne silk shantung, cream colored crinkle chiffon, and more embroidered tulle. I'm debating boning-i have a boned corset for underneath but it's not photographing as smooth as i would like. I think I'm going to press the hell out of it, take some more pictures and then decide.

 

...I may have fainted while sitting in a salon chair...and woke up on the floor...with a gash in my eyebrow...a month and a half before my wedding. hmph

At least the scar will blend into my eyebrow and at least i got liquid stitches instead of real stitches. I'm not allowed to put neosporin or anything on it though because apparently that will dissolve the dermabond. Stupid low blood pressure. They took blood and pricked my finger because they didn't believe that i'm not diabetic or hypoglycemic. Apparently after you eat, blood rushes from your brain to your digestive system, and then the salon chick had me tilt my chin to my chest to trim the bottom of my hair and that cut off more blood flow to my brain or rapidly upped the pressure in my brain (something like that) and that drastic change in blood pressure in my brain made me passout. My head has had quite a few good knocks in the past week... they gave me a cat scan though so they promise my brain is ok. :)

My wedding is in 2 months and i don't have real acne problems but i do get hormonal acne and with the heat, my skin is more likely to break out. I want the best chance at perfect skin i can have for my wedding day so i need some recommendations. *i also have some scarring i'd like to lighten

My current skin routine: Silk Naturals

-Cleanse: KISS Foaming Cleanser

-Tone: BHA Toner after Cleansing, Pore Refining Toner after moisturizing

-Serum: Super Serum

-Moisturize: Red Raspberry Moisturizer

-Masks: Alternating the fruit smoothie and the green clay (i also have burt's bees green clay mask)

-Acne Targeted Treatment: Zosimo's Botanicals Honeybush Acne Rescue 911 and MMBBs red clay mask.

 

Makeup: On a typical day I apply a mixture of minerals (to get a good color match) including dreamworld hecate, dreamworld mammetun, and meow's frisky korat. I use a clean red sponge with MMBB's neroli hydrosol.

 

 

I know that a big part of skin health is in what i eat and i do not eat well. I snack a lot on things i shouldn't and just generally do not feed myself well (i generally wake up around noon. breakfast will consist of yogurt or a poptart or nothing at all- i go to work, *might* buy something there such as a club sandwich or a salad, come home around 1am and find something to snack on- chocolate, chips, nuts, sunflower seeds and go to bed). What foods should i try to eat less of? What foods should I try to add to my diet? * I do like tea and nuts. I've been adding flaxseeds to my salads.

 Update 1: Green Smoothies

I found this articles on Green Smoothies and how leafy greens have great benefits for your skin so I am going to try doing them. Right now, they're all going to include 1 cup baby spinach, 1-2TB of flaxseed, and probably 1 green apple but if i find that i like them and make the effort to drink one everyday, I'll probably branch out. Tomorrow I might add some blueberries. It does say to stay away from fruit juice but i am adding about 1/4 cup of V8splash to them. Will update on the smoothie front after sufficient trial. *I did make one, it's not bad though a little texture weird. I did add almonds to the first one, i don't think i'll be adding them to others. cinnamon and honey make great flavorings.

This is my Honey. Boy do they grow fast. lol. She always stayed particularly cute though. And no...we have no idea what she is. She could be anything. I call her a dingo-terrier mix. lol

 

 

 

 

For reference, here is an island dingo from the D.R. They're bigger and their noses are black but they look the same.

 

Ok so I know I've been MIA for awhile but...I moved!!! To a house! lol. I'm still renting but very excited to live in a house (with a fenced in yard!) instead of an apartment. I have an upstairs, and i have a basement(with a washer and dryer), and a spare room (we made it a library) and a dining room off the kitchen and and and a fenced in yard! We just got FIOS today and I'm so happy to have technology again.lol.

This move was smoother than the last although i did have to cut my boxspring in half to get it up the stairs. lol. We bought a new leather couch to match our cuddler recliner since we actually have space for a couch now. My biggest living room yet. The basement is going to become my workspace for metalwork (hey i can't light concrete on fire!) and sewing. I do want to paint it white though, make it a little less dreary. We planted flowers and started a little herb garden (well really i just planted mint and thyme- mint for mojitos, thyme because it's my favorite herb to cook with.)

I do have to reorganize my makeup into a closet this time (hehe, i've moved so many times. i think 7? times in 5 years...) Never fear, I'm mounting marker boards in the back of the shelves! lol

 

So that is where I was and if you'll excuse me, i have some shopping to catch up on. lol.

The Proposal: We both have to work on Valentine's Day this year so we opted to celebrate early on our days off. Bob took me to an expensive seafood bistro I'd been dying to go to where we enjoyed a romantic fireside dinner (yes fireside- literally inches away) and came home to chocolate covered strawberries and one very sparkly Valentine.

The Ring: A long time ago, Bob asked me what kind of engagement ring I would want. I told him that because I already have a promise ring with a centered stone, I'd like an eternity band that "just can't help but twinkle" and that's exactly what I got!

The Date: We've picked August 23rd, 2009 because after 5 years, we just are NOT changing our anniversary and it does not take a year and a half to plan a wedding says I! We're planning on a fairytale wedding outdoors shortly after sunset with white lights everywhere. In lieu of a traditional dinner (which, being an evening wedding would be quite late), we're planning on a large array of upscale horsdevours, a few fondue fountains, and of course- the cake!
